I bought 5 emerald green cories and thought they were bottom fish but four of them seem to be everywhere in the tank. Top, middle but nearly the bottom. Have i made a mistake on getting these little guys? And I noticed that they swim under one or the other is this normal? Thanks.

Well Cories, are yes bottom feeders/swimmers, but they will swim to the top to get air and if you have just bought the little guys, then they're just settling in, they will probably stop swimming everywhere after a few days. And no you did not make a mistake they are very active fun fish, especially at night.

The frog leaping over each other is very normal :D

All normal behavior.  As they settle in, when they go into breeding condition, you'll notice the glass dance as well. Up and down the glass chasing one another.  They are great fish... no mistake in buying them.

Thanks guys.  I know the kids are enjoying the little guys since they seem to be a little faster then the other fish they have in the tank.

Cories are very 'playful' little critters.  That's why they are my favorites.  In bigger groups, they are even more amazing to watch...

I love the way my albino cories behave.  While they feed on the bottom, they are very busy in all areas of the tank.  Very fun to watch.
