I've just got home and the baby cory i bought last week appears to have taken a turn for the worse and its tail appears to be not much more than a stump:( He's just lying on the gravel looking very ill. Anything i can do? Cause?

I dont have much time x

Sounds the corys got fin rot, best to move the yougster to a isolation tank if possible add no gravel
only fill with half of the water from the corys set slowly add half fresh water over a day a conditioner.
change a third of the water every day use primafix, melafix or esha 2000 to treat the yougster you
must syphone uneaten food every day use a mature sponge in a filter turn the temp up to 26.5 degrees.
hope this helps.

Cant get to a pet store tonight for those meds, ive got everything but. Typical innit. I've put the little guy in on his own so he's not pestered by any of the others.

You've been great with advice though, if he's around tomorrow i will try and save him. THANK YOU X

Unless it's obviously fin-rot, don't rule out the possibility of him being harrased and attacked by other fish. What other stock are in your tank? This will have caused stress related damage as well as the more visible condition, so be careful and monitor his living conditions carefully. Good luck.
