Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

My left arm feels a little bruised from my latest booster. It's free as I'm over 65, I'm asthmatic, and the 2 times I've probably had covid it was very mild compared to the versions that killed family members. In that, it's much like the flu shot in that it isn't always dead on (viruses mutate fast) but in me, the vaccines have done a good job.
I still grieve for the losses, as I knew good people it cut down. The politicians tend to forget the people whose lives were ended much too soon. Everyone tries to forget.
I'm a history reader who has a fascination with periods of social upheaval connected to epidemics and plagues. The stuff that's happened in the last couple of years has been nothing like the level of weirdness that came to the surface with the Black Death. It should have been predictable. I never thought I'd see what I'd read 'live'.
If I were to write a novel based in the latter part of the 1660s, I'd be accused of political satire on the current world. That's astonishing to who I was when I was younger, but older me can just shake his head.
At least that's quieting down now, as per the usual pattern with viruses and newly introduced parasites, and we're dealing with a virus that's with us for good now. I'll continue with the boosters yearly, as the flu shots took me from yearly serious sickness several times leading to pneumonia to zero flu in the 20 years I've been getting them. Plus I like not being a spreader. When I was a teacher, I was always in contact, but I clearly don't have the immune system others enjoy. It isn't the 1660s if we choose for it not to be, so onwards we go.
I hope all members like @seangee who catch it now shake it off fast and get back the more enjoyable aspects of life quickly.
