I think someone asked this already, but the best way to tell is the female is larger and more rounded than the male at maturity.

Hi my_fallen_angel :)

When I am trying to tell the gender of my corys I like to look down on them from the top of the tank. It's easier to see their shapes from that view.

It's difficult, and often impossible to tell the male and female corys apart until they are mature or almost mature. Size is the easiest way to tell the difference. The females will be longer and heavier bodied than the males. If you are able to see their ventral fins, the female's will be more rounded while the male's are pointier.

If you might be wanting to breed them, and have to buy young ones, buy 4 to 6 of them and you will surely have at least one pair. That's what I do.
