hello would firemouth cichlids, tinfoils, red tipped shark be ok with coral sand? thanks rich.

I used it with Central Americans that come from a hard water background, I wouldnt use it with Souths tho, although i did house some Severums in a tank with it for a while once with no ill effects.

Its great in overstocked tanks because it works against PH crashes.

Firemouths would be ok in it.

thats cool thanks mate. i've slowly getting round to having a malawi tank set up. haven't got any coral rock yet and keep getting asked if i want loads of new world cichlids all the time. might save myself some money and just get them instead. altho i really like lemon cichlids.

Not sure what Lemon Cichlids are, but do you mean Yellow Labs? (labidochromis caeruleus)

If so, i have a breeding group of them mixed with New World cichlids with no problem, so it can be done, they have been together for 2 years since i got rid of my Malawi set up.
