"coppery" Brown Stains?

Hi all. My tank has recently developed hideous copper brown stains all over the shop - especially on the gravel and the rocks I have in there.

Can anyone say whether this is poisonous or dangerous for my fish, or how to get rid of it? Should I be worried?

It's diatoms (commonly known as brown algae). They're commonly seen in new tanks, they're harmless. They'd go away on their own, but if you can't stand it, you could brush them off quite easily.

Is that where Diatomic Filter comes from ?

Hi Guys

I also have this too in a 4 week old 30 gallon tank.

The brown stains are on my plants, rock , bog wood and now appearing on my sand substrate.

Any idea how long before it disappear naturally??
