About a month ago I had to remove the female (mother) krib from the main tank into the emergency-10 gallon, planted tank (e-tank) as she was attacking my lovely sailfin plec (he's about 6 inches). At this point there was only one surviving fry so I moved it to the e-tank with the female.
Well, she (mother krib) hid in a rock for a week and I was concerned she'd die as she was not eating. At this point there is no sign of the tiny fry. So I moved her into a different community tank and resumed just caring for the plants in the e-tank. Basically, this means only adding small amounts of food to the tank once a week for the snails.
This weekend I was rummaging around for some plants and low and behold there is the tiny krib!
It's about a half inch big and so cute! He's been in there all alone for three weeks with minimal food.
Once he grows a little more (like when he's the size of a neon) I'll add him back to the community!
