i'm moving the weekend. if i can't get any polysterien boxes could a i use a cool box? the fish should only be in there for about half hour tops i think. is the any thing i should watch out for?

i know i must keep the media wet too, but apart from that?

yes you can

i moved my fish in a large coolbox when moving from birmingham to hull over 3 hour drive, and they were just fine :good:

yep a cool box is simply a plastic lined foam esky.

I use plastic rubbish bins for fish and filter media. Half fill them with tank water add the fish to one and the filter media to the other (clean the filter media before putting it in the bucket). Drop an airstone into each and have them running off a battery airpump.
Use another bucket or two for the gravel and ornaments.

When you get to the new place you have old water to refill the tank and you can top it up with clean water as needed. Keep the feeding down for the next two weeks and monitor the water quality.

1. Large Bin + Tank Water + Oxygen Tablets.
2. Wrap in all in a Duvet (Shock absorber and insulation) ,
3. Fasten the duvet down with Duck tape.
4. Tape on the lid.
5. Pop it in your car.

Sorted.
