yo hi every 1 im new to this forum :),

lets get to the story. i have 10 black convicts in a tank which it pretty big duno how big though lol. yer. ive heard that convicts are agressive fish but i dont fully find this true, same as oscars. this is because my convicts run n hide in their rocks or behind pump every time i get near the tank within a meter after i get their i gota sit down then after about 30 secs or so they come out and swim around then start to fight and defend territory. i dont know why this happens. i have a koi fish with them :D . 6 inch gold one. the convicts approx 2-3inches. and about the oscars the fish dude at the store said i cant keep em with my mollies and danios but they seem to be doing very well. i have a community tank which has 6 zebra danio's,6 mollies, 2 tiny albino catfish, 2 gold, 2 blue gourami's and 3 oscars(1 is 6 inches, 2 are about 4). all the fish besides the gouramis can easily fit in the oscars mouths, but their not eaten. is it because it is not time yet or are they friendly? cause every 1 i know says oscars eat anything that can fit in their mouth.

wups fogot to mention about the 6 gold severums in the tank with oscars and others too i had 9 neons but vanished in 3 in first then 6 the next bloody severums ate em

how big is your tank? Just for 1 fully grown Oscar you need about 75G

Your Oscar's may not have eaten anything yet, but rest assured they will, probably need to get a bit bigger but he will eat them you need to get the community fish and the cichlids separate.

and what is the Koi fish? I hope not a Koi carp as they're coldwater and need a completely different environment, like a pond

lol its koi carp and its been in 28 degree waters for 4 months since i put his tank away cause his "friend" jumped out n died. my tank is 6 bucket full of water a bucket is approx 15 L so about 90L duno how much that is in gallons.

cichild as in the severum? their as big as the oscars

Your tank is nowhere near big enough for even one oscar, never mind three and all those other fish. I would return your oscars and severums (at least) to the shop ASAP.

lol reali? ill put them in other tank then other one in probs 6 times bigger, i dont wana put in tank cause be soooooooo hard and long to clean tank.

severums were from a friend he breed them in a tank and there were like a hundred and they bred again now he keeps them in a tank about my size they are like squished more than half tank is occupied by fish

90L is not a right lot basically, nowhere near enough for all those Oscar's. thats about 20G, so if you want to keep just 1 Oscar you need another tank nearly 4 times the size of the one you have just for that 1 fish, if you want all 3 and the severum's your going to need a tank something like 6foot X 2foot X 2foot.

The Koi Carp is a coldwater fish, he may be OK for now, maybe even survive a few months in tropical water but over the long term it will definately damage him, if you want to keep him he needs a seperate cold water set up.

He'll probably need bigger than 6ft x 2ft x 2ft for all those fish. My advice would still be to rehome all the cichlids unless you can afford to get hold of probably two 6ft tanks. Or to cut it down to one oscar and a severum and maybe one of your convicts (although they're evil sods *lol*), and get a 100g for them. :)

oh god forgot about all the convicts, know a few people with 6X2X2's with a couple of Oscars and some friends, just thought of that.

So yup, unless you can get some massive tanks and quickly, then take them back to the shop.

My cichlids are in a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank, and I have one 8" oscar, one 6-7" vieja intermedium and two convicts. Also in there are 3 clown loaches, two raphael talking cats, and a large sailfin plec.

Seriously though, in a 6ft tank even, I'd either have one oscar and one sev, or two oscars on their own, or two sevs - and then one or two FEMALE convicts. And a couple of dithers (silver dollars, clown loach) at most. It all depends on the fish though - you could still end up with one very scared severum, or your convicts might terrorise all your other fish.

As for the koi, unless you've got a decent sized pond, I'd find a new home for it.

seems like another lengthy wind up like champb21. they obviously don't like football and are really bored.

I thought the same as soon as I saw this one. Well, I don't blame them about the football, but why can't they just read a good book or go for a nice walk?

this is just another troll.

i really hope so.

otherwise, poor fish!!

this is starting to really get annoying now.

anyone else want a forum with jus the regular member from here and none of this stocking pants?

not saying id make it but it would be nice to have some normal fish convo without having people try wind us up or ignore the advice we try give...
