Convict

 Yea they arent really guarding them from much, except the 4 Danios which hardly even notice they are there.

Wow, how many were you able to raise and did you move them to a seperate tank? I have is a 10 gallon bare bottom thats ready for fry if I need to move them. Im guessing the parents will raise them ALMOST to full grown before letting go.

Ill fix the lights so the video is clear and get some video of my fry, Im currently on easter vacation and I left the day they were due to hatch, so Im assuming they have hatched while I was away.

I used to have convict cichlids. :shifty:

thats quite sick but natural behaviour really. teaches people to research fish before mixing them i guess.

what fish is that? the predator?
and what made you mix it with convicts?

The fish is a Wolf fish.
Yes, he did take that picture.
The Convict survived. As you would expect though the Convict was a little shook up afterwards.

That fish was a Gold Wolf fish, Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus. I did take that picture. I had the convicts in the tank first because it was new, i was using them to cycle it. There was a pair of convicts in the tank. They were in the tanks together for a couple weeks, but one day the wolf had enough and started picking on them. That convict isnt alive anymore due to a filter failure in the holding tank. The male that was with that convict is alive though, in a tank at school. They two convicts were/are about 2 years old.

heres my wolf:
