right now, i have a 30 gal, 36in long, with one spotted raphael, 1 pink convict, and 2 firemouths. is this too crowded? i heard that there should only be about 2 firemouths per one 30 gal. the convict seems to pick on the firemouths if they get too close. i wanted to get rid of the firemouths and get some dither fish or something. what make good dither fish for convicts? if its possible, could i put another male convict in the tank with him? so what i would do is leave it the way it is (with rapheal in all) with 2 firemouths, 1 convict or 2 male convicts, or 1 convict with some dither fish.
thanks

Convicts aren't really community fish, not even a cichlid community. They are mostly recommended for species tanks. If you really like the convicts maybe you should try a pair of them, if you can find some place to get rid of the many fry they will have. Anything you put with convicts usually ends up with shredded fins.

i did breed them. the other female died. i dont want to keep breeding them because they breed to much

if u realy like the cons than u should try making it a cave and geting it a mate use the fry for feeder fish in ur other tanks .u will just have to wait a lil bit until they become free swimmers and i know using them for feeder fish might sound wrong but thats what would be hapen if they were in the wild . O and as dither fish get inch gold fish .

I dont think thats good advise. Besides the obvious difference in water requirements... A nasty Con will make short work of a goldfish.
