Convict Sex Chnage?!

OK. I guess my Topic Title worked.

Hey,

I was given 1 convict female (identified) AKA: Maria.
Went out to LFS and bought 1 male(identified). AKA: Hector

Time forward 2 yrs.

I have total of 4 females and 3 males, including the original 2. I now have the males all in one tank, and females in another.

Ok here it is. All is well in both tanks when 5 nights ago Maria starts showing her black strips very silvery.

two nights ago I noticed eggs in the female tank. 2 female stand guard over the eggs Maria and 1 other female.

Tonight I have noticed the eggs looking the normal way Covict eggs look before hatching.

Is it posibble that in an all female tank, fry might still be hatched??? Can a female spontaneously change sex?!?!?!?

I see soon either way.

As I type this. One of the females in the tank, is moving the eggs from the marble plate to the rock bottom.
The other two fish were being chased and both are now in hiding.

no they cant change sex but females will sometimes still lay eggs and assume they are fertilised so wil protect and care for them. or maybe one of those females is in fact a male piccies may help
