i have raised 5 convict fry up and all are aorund an inch, 2 are females. how should i choose a pair?

do i wait until a pair forms between them or should i pick out the best looking male and female?

I would say let them choose :) I think I read somewhere that the males like to choose their females or they like certain females or something :p I could be wrong but, it would be bad if the pair didn't agree and started fighting :X :)

Oki dokey, they should beabkle to move into there new home in a few weeks. as my community moves into my new 4ft leaving the 3ft free for them it's a few more gallons!!

Let them choose...wait until you see breeding behavior and then remove the remaining. I waited until i saw a pair defending a cave and doing the breeding dance.

Shall I put a flower pot in..??

I don't think there is much of an area you can call a cave, it's mainly bogwood and a few stones.

Wouldnt worry about adding anything convicts will breed aywhere and more than likly they will dig to the glass on the bottom of your tank and spawn there.

not a masive pice mine is like 5 lb. and i have never had a problem in any tank iv never heard anything like that .im not saying its not true but iv never heard that

Its not a good idea to have anything leaning against the glass of your aquarium. With the pressure of the water and the possibility of your fish shifting the object, which can lead to a cracked tank.

I totally agree. Its much better to build a cave out of rocks and use aquarium sealant to glue them together. Leaning anything against the glass is an accident waiting to happen. It might work for awhile but after enough time and large enough fish it will lead to broken glass and a lot of water to clean up!
