Convict Cichlid Fry Not Growing?

i got a breeding pair of convicts end of may, they layed eggs within 3 days and so i have some fry from the last time and they layed eggs again about 4/5 weeks ago, non of them seem to be getting any bigger...

Anyone know why??

The ones from june are the same size as the ones from now just a tinyy bit bigger but thats it.

alsooo they seem to be hundreds when they first start swimming but now there seems to be about 20/30 is this normal??

How big is the tank? how many are in there? what are you feeding them? What temp is the tank?

the tank is 100l and theres only the one breeding pair, there seems to be about 20/30 fry left but i think there is more just thats all i can see at one time coz some hide in the rocks a lot.

I feed them crushed flakes and there is plenty of algae on the rocks which they seem to eat so i leave it there

Live food like brine shrimp and microworm would be best to feed them. Crushed flake isnt really good enough to raise fry.

i've just bought some fry food off ebay, how would you store live food because at my fish store they have it in plastic bags that once you open you cant close again.

Do you think that the food is the reason why they arnt growing??

How much would you say to feed a day and how many times.

I'm going back to basics now because i want it to be perfect...

Also do you think that thats why a lot have disapeared because the food isnt right??

Live foods in the packs will die of quickly. Your best off cultivating your own. I think thats probably the reason why they havent grown.

to be honest i havnt got the room to have my own, how many times a day should i be feeding them?

the best way i found to grow out convict is using decapsulated brine shrimp you can get a bag from ebay for aa few quid

lots of water changes help too with growing out fry, I do mine daily.

I start off with around 25% working upto 50% as they get a little bigger. My Rotkeil severums get 25% twice a day.

thanks for your help, before i got them i looked into everything but they just dont seem to be growing so i'm going back to basics lol need to get it right in the end!
