Hi me again
How compatible would 1 convict cichild be in my community tank ? A local shop has some for sale and they are really small at mo,
I would really only like 1 so no breeding problems .
If it is small when added to my tank would it be ok with 5 guppies,4 blackwidows , 3 keyholes cichild , 12 cories , 1 brn and 1 spotted headstander . Tank 180lt but long with lots of hiding places and substrate bottom
I ask on here as I feel this is the place to seek honest oppions plus you all seem to know your stuff when it comes to questions
I know I am pretty stocked up but have a really good external filter plus regular cleaning routine

I wouldnt risk it.if your keyholes start to breed and start a fight with the convict the convict could very easily kill the keyholes. Convicts are great fish and the best parents ive seen but stocking should really be selected to fit around the convicts. Mine hold their ground with a 12" flowerhorn.

Hi I think my keyholes are 3 males as very small when I got them and had them for a few months now and there back dorsal fins are the same , no problems as yet with them fighting as they always hang together
I was more worried about my other fish mainly my cories as not that old where as my guppies and widows are

I would not get a Convict. They are very aggressive, and will maul your keyholes even if its small. They are not community fish unless its an aggressive community.

Oh and if its a male it will be a 4" killing machine.

Hi guess convict out of the running as looking for another type of cichild would fit in my tank as they are great fish cheers for info

What about Rams? I have a few and they are really peaceful. As far as I am aware though they are dwarf fish so won't get massive.
