Convics

First off:
What size tank are you going to keep the cons in?

Will you have a pair of cons, groups of the same sex, or a single fish?

Hi mate I have a pair of breeding cons and a 3ft 125L tank -_-

Water & rocks are about it with a breeding pair. I've had a pair tear up heavy plastic plants. Any other fish will either get torn up or so stressed that they die.

Not in that size tank, unless you put in a divider.

A breeding pair of convicts (cichlids in general actually) will defend their territory agressively. They skip from body language to ripping and tearing, cichlids try to take good care of their fry and will kill or destroy any threats to them ;) Rocks and water are pretty much the only things that won't be attacked.

hi all if i get a bigger tank can i get other fish in such as cichlids.

A catfish would probably lose its eyes and, if you wanted to keep other cichlids with the pair, a 125g might just be enough :)

hi can i put more bigger fish with the cons like Discues and larger cichlids
:/ :) :)

The cons will still attack the larger fish and the larger fish will either severely injure the cons or be severely injured.

Convicts are evil. I have a breeding pair with a rapheal catfish, but i just added him so he may be killed soon. the tank is also 3ft long, 30 gallons. I have two other convicts in there, one is a baby fish i never caught and the other is another older baby fish i cant catch. They have hiding places so they can get away. Ill have to see how the rapheal does with them, ill tell you later if he lives. I use the fry for feeders!
