Converting Filters

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to convert to a different type of filter.
The inserts are totally different. I want to go from whisper to Aquaclear.

The best way would be to transfer media from the old into the new, if this is not possible as you have hinted by the media being completely different you could run the new filter in the tank alongside the old filter for 4-6 weeks and bacteria will colonize on the new filter media. After about 6 weeks ideally you could take the old filter out and keep an eye out for any mini cycles.
