you should get a/somr ottos.they reduce algae by alot.i have 1 otto in my 15 gal and it is algae free.i have always only had 1 otto and he does fine alone

Yea thats pretty much it but if your tank starts to get brown or green algae you can get 3 ottos but when they are at the pet store buy 3 and have them hold them for 2 to 3 weeks and have them fed because its best to wait 2 to 3 weeks before bringing them home because they aren't shipped right and some lose the bacteria they need in their stomach to live so you have to wait for survival of the fittest so the 3 you want get the good bacteria in it.

well also u need enough algae to feed ur ottos.if you get alot you may end up with only 1 anywho.id add each fish slowly.1 otto.............2 ottos.....and so on so fourth.

Actually I'd recommend getting all 3 at once as they like to be in groups. But like I said it is highly recommended that you wait till you get brown or green algae before getting them and get some algae wafers to feed them once the algae is gone.

i would say that you could get mabye 10 neons and like 4-6 cories a max

if that is what kind you wont and you haveto have a desent filter and keep up with water changes

because neons a senictive fish

and for that otos for you guys talking about them you can add 1 at a time or all 3

and there doesnt nessically have to be algea in the tank yuo can substu algea waffers

10 neons would be to many as for the corys maybe 4 at the most, actually there does have to be algae in the tank before adding them so they can get the good bacteria in the tank.

when i had a tank years ago, for some reson i never had an algea problem. i only had corys, and i dont think they eat alge, do they??

Dreworz5 no they don't eat algae they eat any food that may have fallen to the bottom and algae wafers.

there is a small problem the tank isnt in the sunlight, will I get algae?? i'll would be feeding them algae wafers and cucumber and how!!! also reading some other information on the catfish section.... do corys need sand substrate or are they ok with gravel??? the barbels thing....

thanks

That makes no sense what so ever!

You can add ottos preferable in a group of 3 or more when ever the tank is correctly cycled and stable, oto's are quite sensitive so the fluctuations in a newly cycled tank are not good for them.

It there's not enough algae substitute it with things like cucumber and corgette as well as processed foods such as Algae waffers and catfish pellets.

You really need not worry about overstocking with neon tetras, just watch how many cories you put in as the food they will eat can be quite high in protein polluting water easily, so stick with a group of 4 cories or so, 3 otto's and then 10 neons or so.

I know its not required but I thought it would be best to say that in case their lps won't hold some ottos for a couple weeks to make sure they get the right kind of bacteria in their stomach and if they had algae in the tank then I thought it would help get that bacteria in their stomach, my bad. :look:
