Catfish - Green cheeks are fantastic little birds! Not the most colourful maybe but they are soooo much fun!! Ozzy had learnt how to open his cage and when he hears me awake and wandering around in the morning he gets out of the cage (stays in it all night!!lol) and comes wandering around the house looking for me - He is SO adorable!! And he's trying to talk at the moment so keeps muttering REALLY quietly practising and it is just adorable!!! I love these little birdies!!

i have a budgie who is adorable and i love him..but he's not very smart lol. not like these sorts of parrots anyway.

hi your two birds are lovley colours, B) my parrot is called roamer the breeder i got her from lives in nottingham,he said she looks like a girl,so we call her a she,she says hello,thankyou,and tells ya no when we tell her its time to go back in her cage

I also got Kai from a breeder in Nottingham! He wasn't called Graham was he? We originally thought Kai was female but we had them DNA'd and they both male Whatever makes them happy

yes it was graham im not going to get roamer dna tested as im not breeding her,male or not i love her all th same.

And we must have got our birds from the same breeder then Donna as there aren't all that many Caique breeders around Im fairly sure he was the only breeder in the UK who hand reared Blue Throated Conures (Kai) and he's just sold his breeding pair so i guess there not going to be many available at all now But i believe he's concentrating on Caiques now

We decided to get them sexed because they were getting a little too um.. close We needed to know if they were a pair so we could decide whether to split them or not! But they're not a pair so i just let them get on with it

hi jessica when i was thinking of getting a parrot i was going to get a senegal,my mate has one,anyway i went on the internet found a lady who had some ,they took me around the avary they had and showed me a black headed caique, i had never seen anything so colourfull B) they had a pair on eggs so i said id wait,but they didnt hatch .then i found graham who also had eggs,as it was a hot yr they also did not hatch,i almost gave up,then one day he rang me to say a caique a lady put a dep on decided she didnt want it,and it was mine if i was still interested ,that was that really, i know our birds are smaller than african greys ect but they make up for that in personality

Awww, it sounds like you were really lucky to get him! I know Caiques can be hard to get hold of compared to things like senegals, or some conures! Hand reared are especially hard!!

And i totally agree with you about the personality! I've had everything here from a budgie to a macaw, and have had greys and toos of my own and my conures have as much, if not more personality!!! I also have a Cape Parrot (African Grey sized, with macaw sized beak!!lol ) and he is fantastic, but he is more wary of new people than my conures. When i take Oz and Kai out they jump from shoulder to shoulder, they're great fun!!

hi jessica you got any other pets?i used to keep rats i did have a snake and a lizzard yrs ago,my daughter has 2 gerbils.do your parrots lick the side of your fish tank roamer is always doing it .

Donna, i have lots of pets A horse, 5 cats, 3 dogs, 2 hamsters, a lovebird and 25 chickens We have a very full house We also used to have a pair of Corn snakes, gekos and an iguana called Deidre! I love reptiles!!

My birds do try to grab at the fish through the glass but im really careful with them. My conure Molly, who i lost last summer got onto the edge of the tank when the cats had pushed the lid of and grabbed one of my guppies out of the water and tried to eat him So to avoid that happening again i am very careful with them
