ive got a 65 gallon tank from big als that came with a light fixture that i would like to know if its any good for live plants. ive got 2 amazon swords that i bought as a test and they have done extremely well but i want diff plants now as well ... its a cora life with 2 little thin bulbs in it one that says "6700K F21-T5-BP" and the other one which is a light pink like color light when its on says "COLORMAX-F21-T5-BP"
are these any good... any recommendations to make it better.... thanks

These are 21W T5 bulbs? If so you have 42W of T5 over 65USG. The colours of the 2 tubes are fine for planted tanks and probably a good mix for your eyes. These must be pretty short to go over that size tank though. So you mean 65Litres or is it a 65USG with 1 tube at either end of the hood? If the latter does your tank look greeny/white at one end and pinkish at the other?

As an answer to your first question 42W over 65USG would be a problem with T8 tubes but as yours are T5 linears you should be able to go the low light route without needing CO2.

the tank is 65 us gallons i guess?? im in canada so im not sure which we use... the light strip fixture thing holds both tubes together ,and it fits perfectely over the glass top .tank is 3 feet long 2 feet high and 1.5 feet wide and the light fixture is 34.5in so just under 3 feet. i tried the lights with just one at a time and it looks quite different running just 1... it does look alot better with the 2 going at once. i wonder what the purpose is for the 2 diff colors??? ill be off today to get some low light plants i guess ...should i be getting any fertz as well? and what is the best , thanks
