Considering Dwarf Cichlids - Help Anyone?

The tank is empty and cycling at the moment, I already have 2 community tanks so I'm looking for something different for the new 75g. Cichlids and some dither fish and a cleanup crew (mts, algae eater, etc) only.

Yes - I was asking both for the OP (their 75 gallon) and my own future, which might hold a 25 - 30 gallon tank (long rather than tall). I'm hoping to make Apistos the centerpiece, but in that size tank I would imagine I could only have 2?

Owww might want to try something like 2 males 6 females and lots of neons or other dither fish, i would be ready to re home one of the males into another tank if they clash

Ok, after looking at the various types of Apistos, I think I've settled on these two:

Apistogramma Agassiz
Apistogramma Rotpunkt

So the question is, can I have a pair of each of these in a 75g (45.5" x 18.5" x 20" I believe), with a school of dither fish and a clean up crew of MTS, a small placo (I.e. One that will remain small) or some Otos, and maybe some Amano shrimp?

I would think my tank would be big enough for each pair to have a territory without too much fuss, opinions?

Personally i say screw the those fish and go for discuss
if you truly want a different tank with more beauty than most
Discuss are with out a doubt the way to go

Ahhhh....I'm firmly in love with the Apisto plan now , although I am sad to have to dismiss the idea of convicts. I saw a beautiful breeding pair of those in my research that had such personality ....but I want a realtively peaceful tank, so Apistos it is. Now if my darn cycle would hurry up - currently I have to be content with decor and plants

I'm impatient and ready for already!

Are not dicuss a lot bigger than dwarf cich? Would affect stocking options.

I've settled on the following for stocking my 75g (45.5" x 18.5" x 20") cichlid tank:

Main Fish
2 x Apistogramma Agassiz
2 x Apistogramma Rotpunkt
2 x Kribensis

Dither Fish:
Love LF Zebra Danios, but need to see if they have similar water condition needs. If not, will consider barbs.

Clean Up Crew
2 x Zebra Pleco (dwarf, aren't supposed to get bigger than ~ 3")
Amano Shrimp
MTS
