Hi all
firstly thanks to those of you that appreciate my danio website.
I am considering doing one in a similar style on tetras.
I know that compaired to danios this will be a massive undertaking,
so perhaps I'll limit it to the top 20-30 tetras.
or do you think doing it on the not-so-common tetras would be a better idea?

either way, you have the opportunity to help decide the content and supply photos
for it.

Please feel free to offer your thoughts, suggestions etc.

First BIgC does Killis and now you are trying Tetras. Is there a conspiracy? :)

I like the idea.....Go for it!!! I would prefer common tetras as this would help a lot more of us simple people.

i'd be interested in it, go for it mate. are we talking profiles, biotypes, ideal tank parameters etc... plus pics or more to it than that?

either way i'd help out with pics if you want, (glowlights and cardinals anyway) not sure if i could help with the more challenging profile info though, i'll leave that to you.

an easy to follow how to breed tetras walkthrough would be awesome but sadly i think thats a little hopeful. i cant even manage to breed guppies at the moment!!

Tetras are a good idea
IMO, you should do BOTH common and rare species as
a)Common species profiles will be a good help for newbies
b ) Rare will be good for newbies and experienced fish keepers alike
Something for everyone
Are you planning on doing large tetras? or just small ones such as the ones you have now?

DD

tetras do not a;ways get good reports but i am a great lover so i sya go for it! im alwyas avaliable to help if needed!

yes to all points

either way i'd help out with pics

I'll hold you to that :p

No experiance myself on breeding any tetra but I would add the relevent info

Are you planning on doing large tetras? or just small ones such as the ones you have now?

depends on your definition of large/small
I have BATs and discus tetras, which are both large (compaired to say fireheads)

Another thing I am considering is sectioning the site so one part would be African tetras and the other would be American tetras. or one part slim bodied tetras and another deep bodied tetras; what do you think?

Good Luck with your venture Wolfie, even though I think it would be a massive undertaking given the subject matter. I am finding it hard going with my site in regards to the time involved. I am having to do a sub-section at a time bit by bit if you like.
Go for it and show us the results.
Regards
BigC

Go for it mate, it will be a big undertaking but worth it in the end. I will happily help with some pics - Columbian tetra, Red eyed african characin and bleeing heart etc.

To split the characins into smaller groups when judging we split them into Small Characins upto 5cm, Medium Characins 5cm to 120cm and Large Characins over 120cm.

The size book I promised you should be in the post by the end of the week :D .
