I got what I thought was a male/female pair of convicts at my LFS a few weeks ago and now I think I might have ended up with two females. I first had them in with my kribs but the kribs were beating them up because they just laid their eggs. So I got them their own tank and had them separated because one had really shredded fins and I wanted to give it time to recuperate. Now I have eggs in there but the eggs are with the one that I thought was a male! I thought the females had the golden colored scales on their bellies? Argh I am confused and frustrated!

female cons have orange scales on their belly and have rounder fins .the males have just black and white stripes no orange and sharper fins hope i helped
