Confused

hi,

My platy gave birth to around 15 fry 2 nights ago but she is not getting any smaller and I can still see her gravid spot as clear as before. Can anybody explain this to me?

Just before they give birth they start to produce the next batch of eggs ready to replace the fry, this is why she has not lost all the weight.

The gravid spot in platys can stay there all the time as well as totally dissapering sometimes.
