Im a bit confused with water readings... I usually use 2 methods..
1 is the dip strips & other one is water sample,
water tester is the API fresh water test kit & stips are tetra 6 in 1

so I do a test using the water sample & it shows Nitrites at 0 (pale blue colour)
If I imediaty do ne using strips, it shows Nitrites at .60 (Slightly pinkish)

Not sure which one to believe.. all other levels are good/ok

Fish all look ok. no signs of any distress...

*Im going to do a water change anyway, just incase...but which test is usually more accurate? any idea?

Agree on the API liquid being better to use.

Interesting there is a thread about nitrites showing up in tests as 2 ppm yet the fish are not showing any signs of nitrite poisoning; the tests are using strips. The fish would be dead if nitrite really was 2 ppm...anyway, just wondering about the strips? For all we know, other factors might be affecting them.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for the replies... I have had strips showing as 1.5ppm, & fishes were ok, no signs of any issues..Just need to convice other half, that its not as bad as we think.. :)
