Hello everyone :)

I've decided now is the time to get my first fish tank but I'm really confused as to whats the best size to get and also, if its a good idea to get a tank in the first place. The tank is going to be in my bedroom, so my first question is, how noisy are they? Will I be able to get to sleep? Secondly, whats a good size to get?

I've been looking at this tank
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/95LT-TROPICAL-AQUARIUM-FISH-TANK-KIT-STAND-SILVER-/160583224733?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item2563818d9d
Would this be suitable?

Any help would be really great so thanks in advance :)

Firstly, congratulations on your decision to keep fish; I'm sure that you'll really enjoy it.

To be honest, the majority of modern filters and pumps make far less noise than they used to and unless you're a REALLY light sleeper then I don't think the noise will be much of a problem. In fact, a lot of people find the sound quite relaxing...

When buying your first tank it is advisable to buy something which is big enough to keep your fish happy and healthy but not so big that is unmanageable. The 95L tank which you are looking at is definitely a good size for a beginner as it gives you a fair bit of scope with stocking and won't be too difficult to maintain.

Good luck :)
