Confused: Foggy Water

Well the water in my tank running approx 6 months with fish in it (after cycling) has suddenly become very foggy sort of appears to have a sight tint of green. I dont know what this could be, any help?

What is in tank?

How often do you feed?

How long are lights on daily?

Is tank getting any direct sunlight?

Sounds like you have algae growing in your water from any of the reasons that canarsie11 mentioned

Water changes and less light are the nly things that can be done without tearing down the tank

As many details as you can povide will help. Aside from the above, sometimes it's simply a matter of cutting back food, others it might mean cutting back on stock or increasing filtration (especially if you have fish that have grown in those 6 months. No matter what it is there should be no reason for the extreme of tearing down the tank.
