I have a tank with 160lt (42 US gal) and 2 angels in it. I also have 3 mollies, 5 guppies, 4 bristlenose catfish, 2 cory's and 8 neons. I know the general rule is 1in/gal but 1in of mollie is alot mor than 1in of neon, so im a bit confused. I also know i could carry alot more fish if i got rid of the angels, but I really like them and would prefer to work around them. Can this tank hold any more fish?

you have to have common sense when using the inch per gallon rule.

like you couldnt keep a 10" fish in a 10 gallon tank. its jus there as a guide really.

aslong as you have the right minimum tank size then the inch per gallon rule does probably cover you for mollies as they arent big waste producers and dont grow THAT big.

as for your stocking i think your overstocked as you have around 55 inches of full grown fish.

the 4 plecs wont be helping as they produce alot of waste.

dnt think i included the angels in the 55" actually so quite a bit overstocked.

How many of the plecs do you think it would take to keep the sides nice and clean? If I could cut down to say 1 or 2 and then get rid of the cory's then that would put me in a better position. Thus far I havnt had any water quality problems but I dont want to start once everything starts to mature.
