Confused About Cycle May Need Help Quick!

Hi

I am currently cycling my tank using tetra safe start thats a one dose cycle product used at the start of setup and 6 zebra danios.

Now tetra say you can add a few fish with this product and it will rapidly cycle a tank but into the second week

My ammonia levels keep peaking at 0.50 now do I remove this doing a small water change or just leave it for the nitrite to kick in?

Surely if I remove this amonnia my tank will never cycle? its about 2 and a half weeks now and I aint seen any sign of nitrites!

That said my nitrate reading is 40ppm but my tap water contains 10ppm anyways plus I dose TPN+

So any ideas guys on how I should go about it?
