I have a 10 gallon:
4 neon tetras
4 rasbora harlequins
3 von rio tetras

the von rios seem to be a bit intimidating to the neons.. the neons are always at the bottom of the tank and hiding in the plants (i made sure there was some for them to hide in.) is this normal?? i feel bad, and dont know what to do!

also~ do you think my tank is pretty full??? I was thinking about getting a balloon molly but i dont want to crowd my tank or scare the neons more than they already are...

any suggestions???? i'd appreciate it!!

:wellcome: first of all wrong forum, second of all i wouldnt get any mroe fish... maybe you should get a bigger tank and get more neons, they are a schooling fish and do better in groups...

Hi littledeb :)

Welcome to the forum! :flowers:

I am going to move your thread to another section where you will be more likely to get answers. If you would like to start another thread in the Newbie forum just to introduce yourself, you are welcome to. :D

Von Rios won't eat neons, they are tiny too. Neons naturally hide as you describe, they don't really school tight the way harlequins do. I suggest you return the neons (they are pretty fragile and seem to catch diseases easily, poor things) and fill out your Von Rio and Harlequin schools, i'd want to end up with about 7 of each type. Yes, this is more than the inch per gallon guideline you may have heard of, but these small tetras/rasboras contribute very little bioload.
