Completely Clueless!

Hi there.

Me and my boyfriend have decided to get some tropical fish. We dont have a clue how much it all costs though.

Would anybody be able to give us an idea? We dont want a massive tank-a friend has suggested a 90l should be adequate for us.

Are you in the UK or US?
Things seem cheaper in the US.

But if you're in the Uk expect to pay around £40 for a clearseal tank-which is just a basic tank with no added extra's. (can be more if you go for jewel tanks or other well known brands that tend to come with a cabinet)

A heater for a 90L could be around £25.
For the filter it really depends what you want- if you want a filter that can get you by, with sensible stocking i'd reccomend a fluval 3, which you can get for about £20.

They're all the essentials, but you will also probably want some form of substrate, wether it be gravel or sand it's up to you but this shoudln't be a substantial cost.

Buying the fish themselves shouldn't be too much either really, smaller fish you can get a few (5 or 6) for £2 or so.
