ive recently started to look after fish....so im really stuck on anything new! it all started because of a triops i raised and has just carried on from there to my new tank setup and such, anyway i was pointed here by a guy called "saltynay" which im sure is a member here. anyway in my new tank ive noticed it has gotten abit cloudy? also after 2 days of having the filter running it has started to vibrate a lot, now i went and search Google high and low on information about my filter, its a interpet pf1 which was uber silent and is now uber noisy....unfortunately i get really irritated with the constant vibrating! and one other thing

i have a red tailed shark with a fighter fish, i had to remove the red tailed shark as he was attacking the fighter fish. since he has been back in his old tank which yes has fully cycled the lot! (something i do know about :shifty: ) anyway he has turned white  im not sure what the hell has gone on but i was abit like OMFG? hes white.....shock horror kind of thing.

so hoping someone here with better know how then me can help me out :) laters!

anyone help?? please!!

Siamese fighters are best on their own because they will either pick on other fish or be picked on by others.
I sometimes find if you take your filter apart and give it a good clean then that can help - mine sometimes goes really buzzy but if I give it a good clean then it's fine.
If it's a new tank, it might take a few days for the water to settle etc.
Has the shark got lots of little white spots? If so then it could well be whitespot (funnily enough lol). You can get special whitespot treatments that should clear it up but if you have shrimp in your tank then you can't use it because the copper in it could kill them.

HTH :D

As Claire said it could be whitespot, but what i would look at is the temps of the tanks??

is the other tank, without the siamese, a dramatic difference? whether hotter or colder, a different
temp can really mess them up!!

i would recommend adding whitespot treatment into the water, and just monitor the progress of the shark,
this could be due to the stress of fighting with your siamese, just watch how the shark reacts to life without the siamese,
and also avoid putting them back into together!!!

hope this helps :fun:
