can anyone advise if it is ok. to put rams with gouramis. 70 gal.high.
2blues,2opoline,2gold,2moonlights.2dwarfs.plus10rainbowfish.

Hiya sabbath1940! Yep, as Inchworm said, welcome to TFF! I think it would be fine keeping those fishees together!

i would say that with the temperment of most gouramis you will run into problems with aggression/establishing territories, etc - especially since it is a HIGH tank.....plus with TEN rainbows (depending on what size you get)...you are looking at a pretty heavily stocked tank (once the are full grown) especially with all of those gouramis - add them in gradually and see how the gouramis handle eachother's company

i hope you have male/female pairs, because otherwise you have a massive aggression problem on its way. most notably, the blues and golds are in fact just color varients of the same species, so unless two of them are females, you're probably going to have some nasty fights as they get older. actually, you'll probably have issues even with two females as the males compete whenever a female goes into breeding condition.

i wouldn't add the rams. you've got quite a bit going on in that tank already without a small set of breeding cichlids.

thanks for the warm welcome,and advice The rainbows are4 aust.an 6dwarfs,as for the gouramis they do get a little nippy toward each other but nothing major. Tank is well scaped,plants,vines,and caves.also i do have 10 panda corys(my favorite cats) as for population i thought why not 2 or 3 more ,but u guys are right.Thanks again for the info.
