A long time ago I tried to keep a single EBJD in a heavily planted 125g because I fell in love with his looks, and of course the LFS said he would be fine. Even though he was only 3" he went on a killing spree and was determined to assisinate everything else in the tank (even much bigger fish).
Of course I took him back but IMO keeping 2 cichlids known for their aggression in one tank is just asking for trouble. They are not going to become friends and will never hang out together.
