I have a large 350lt 4ft tank into which I am placing my existing stock of fish

1xred tail black shark
5xtiger barb
8xpuntius partipentazona
5xclown loach
2x angelfish
2x elephantnose fish
6x cardinal tetra
1x gold gourami
1x opaline gourami
1x dwarf gourami
1x bristlenose plec (male)
3x corydoras adolfoi

I really am interested in adding discus to my tank and want to know about any compatibility issues with my existing stock.
water stats are all good and pH is around 7.2-7.4
my barbs are not boisterous because they are in a large group. they just seem to play amongst themselves. tank is heavily planted with lots of long straight vallis and bogwood hiding places.
thoughts please folks?
thanks
paul

Discus really need to be the centerpiece of a tank, otherwise they simply will not thrive,
Your current setup has too species that are incompatible with Discus and their heat requirement will not be appreciated by some of your stocking,

edit: if you are serious of going the Discus route then the following may work with 5 Discus,
(the minimum you should keep unless you have an adult breeding pair)

5x clown loach
2x angelfish
2x elephantnose fish - although this in itself may be problematic in the future,
6x cardinal tetra
1x bristlenose plec (male)
3x corydoras adolfoi

Angel fish are completely incomparable with discus. Once angel fish pair off they will kill or viciously attack and discus.

Disagree, i used to keep Angels with Discus no problem for years.

People exaggerate so much on fish compatibility....or have been misled.
