Right the long and short of it is that my tank has developed a crack so im replacing it, and i quite fancy malawi/tanginaka chichlids. The catch is id like to keep some of my fish from the old tank and not have to sell/give em away.

so can i mix these fish with the chichlids:

Tyre track eel
Bull dog, starburst and clown peckolita
Botia Modesta
Synodontias ornatapinnis and nigreventis
Polypterus ornatapinnis

Look its odd but a change is as good as a new start, but these guys are my fave little critters, its bad enough having to let go of the severums etc......

I don't know about the eel or the polypterus [ don't think so ], but the others might work.

What size is that tank again ?

The tank size is 30" length 18" wide 15" deep. Yeah a little wide but its a nice surface area for gas exchange no?
I intend to run two internal power filters and a double air pump over gravel, ocean rock and a bit of mopani wood for that tangle effect.
Further note on the birchir, in accordance to the "Jurassic Fishes" book by Haruto Kodera, my species has been found in lake Tanginaka, so she should be fine. The tanks being cycling for a day, using the fish mentioned earlier, they've all fed bar the birchir, but shes fat and can stand to lose alittle weight....

Any suggestions on the chichlids? (they need to be largish bout 5" long)
