I was given some fry from my LFS a few weeks ago, 10x baloon mollies, 4x otto's, 1x zebra danio.

My question is, I've had a few balloon molly deaths and a couple of the ottos have since died also, I was noticing the zebra danio was growing VERY fast (never had one before but seems alot bigger than when I got it).

Is this danio going to be ok in my 14gal with balloon mollies and a Male CT Betta?

Thanks

Actualy, the reason you have experienced deaths is that a) you are over-stocked and b ) otos need a mature tank.

Zebra danios also require a 20 gallon minnimum and should be kept in a group of 5. The tank size necessary is due to their activity levels.

Each of the mollies will get to about 2" - thus requireing a 20 gallon themselves. they also produce a fair amount of waste and, if you have both sexes (which should be at a ratio of at least 2 females per male), will breed like rabbits and add to the over-stocking.

Otos get to 2" and are suitable for your size tank and should be kept in groups like you are keeping them. However, they need fresh veggies in their diet, fresh algae also and, most importantly, a mature, stable tank with excellent water quality. I suggest you move these to your larger tank (though that'll also end up over-stocked considering the starlight plec).
