Many thanks to The Wolf for suggesting that I put my five very aggressive dawn tetras in with my two Koi angels. I transferred two gold rams, that were already in with the dawns, at the same time and they are much happier since it is a bigger tank and the dawns are less often close enough to attack. The dawns are also slightly intimidated by the angels - who spent several hours hunting them. The smallest dawn has, in fact, disappeared - but I'm not sure whether he was eaten or is just in hiding! The tank is well planted.

For my next question .... can anyone suggest a few more companions. As well as the angels, rams and dawns there are two ottos in the tank. The tank dimensions are 67.5cm x 32cm x 45cm high. Bearing in mind that the dawns have been moved three times now, having picked fights with: tiger barbs, pearl and zebra danios, glowlight tetras, honey and sparkling gouramis. The dawns stick to the middle and top of the tank (except when dive bombing a ram) the rams spend most of their time picking around at the bottom and on bog wood etc; the angels (who are still quite young) glide about all over looking fierce - but seem to have given up on the idea of lunching on (any more?) dawns.

Anyone any ideas?
Thanks

i don't know what dawns are? what is their latin name then i maybe able to help you....

how many 'dawns' do you have by the way? and what sort of fish are you looking to add to your tank upper level, middle or bottom or even a species would be better like tetra or chiclids?

:good:

I have five dawn tetras (like I said) latin name is I believe Aphyocharax paraguayensis. I'm really just looking for any ideas on fish that would co-exist with these aggressive little buggers (impulse buy recommended by young lad in otherwise very good lfs - and much less aggressive when younger). I wouldn't have believed that they could intimidate the tiger barbs!

the current valid as taxa is Hyphessobrycon eos

I can't really help any more on suggestions of what to add
I've tried these with so many fish.
They did seem to get on with danio kyathit & danio hikari
both can be seen on my website (see sig)
HTH some
good luck

Blimey, I had no idea there were so many danios! Should have looked at your site before and educated myself. I will look out for these. In the meantime, just glad that tanks are more peaceful. Thanks.
