I would love a betta but currently don't have the space for another tank. Would a male betta be ok in a community tank and live happily? I have a Juwel rekord 70 with 6 corys, 5 neons , 3 platys and 2 guppies. Do you think it would be ok or should i not get one?

Probably woudln't be a good idea, the neons would probably nip your bettas tail to bits, and the may might attack the guppies thinking the bright flowing tails are actually those of another betta.

I haven't found a male betta that gets along well with guppies though I've had no trouble from females, the neons nipping is dependant on the fish. You could keep a group of three female bettas, you can get them with lovely colors though they don't have the same finnage.

Yupp females would probably work. I've never kept them with neons, but have kept them with platies, swordtails, guppies etc. and they got on fine :good:

Thanks for your advice!! I definitely won't go with a male betta then, i'll wait til i get another tank :D I'll have a think about the females!
