I visited a couple fish stores yesterday to scout out what fish I might like.
I came away with a list to research, obviously i wouldn't get all of these fish, but i'll probably pick from it.
I'm looking at getting a 50 gallon tank, so am starting my research early.

I already have zebra danios, and i'd like to get some more of the gold variety. Probably take the number up to a dozen. I wouldn't mind some leopards or giants too.

The main fish to catch my eye were tetras/rasboras.
pristella, paraguay, glow-lite, phantom, lemon tetras, also black neons, harlequin and emerald eye rasboras, also white cloud mountain minnows.

Two that really stood out though were the gold tetras, which were infact silver, but shined so brightly, they really caught my eye, and glass bloodfin tetras.

I was also looking at fish to hang around the bottom, panda cories, bristle nosed and peppered catfish caught my eye. I really liked the look of the clown loaches too, but they looked like they might be too big.

I know I definitely want more danios, and would really like the gold and glass bloodfin tetras. The rest is somewhat optional.

Here's the thing though. I also saw some kribensis. And, they look like they'd be a nice bigger, slightly different fish to have. But I don't want my other fish eaten. From what I can read, tetras and such are recommended to be kept with them as dither fish, but it seems any loaches or catfish would be out of the question.

Would they be too much trouble?
And are there any fish listed which wouldn't be compatible?
Remember, no, i'm not going to try to get every fish on the list, they're just the options.

Cheers!

Almost everything looks compatible. The Clowns will need a 150g tank eventually so those are out. I don't know too much on Kribs but I don't think they're very aggressive. Everything else should work fine in whatever combination you choose.

the kribs don't like other bottom dwellers,
especially when they are spawning which
is most of the time.

I, however, have khulies with my kribs.
the only time they chase the khulies is when they get too close to the fry.
if you provide plenty of hidy holes for the khulies to escape and a sand substrate (kribs love digging in sand and moveing it about, mouthfull by mouthfull) then you shouldn't have a problem keeping them together.

Ah, thanks. :)
Yeah, I figured the clowns wouldn't be doable, but, they seemed so curious and friendly.
Still unsure about kribs, at least with cories or loaches, from what I could read it was recommended to avoid bottom dwellers.

That was one question I forgot, sand or pebble for the bottom dwellers. Looks like it might end up being sand! khulie loaches look nice, so i'll definitely have to consider those aswell.

Thanks! :)
