Ok, once I get my tank straight, I'd like to community stock it. I don't really care about having huge fish, but I would like some that can get up to about 3-4" long. I like the looks of clown loaches and like the puffers, too. Can someone help me with getting my tank activity? What goes with what, who can live with who.

BTW, i have a basic 55 gallon tank. Thank you. Later, QD.

ye clown loaches should be fine in that size tank, they can get up to 12" but this takes many years.
a nice big school of tatera in that size tank would look great, maybe cardinals or rummy nose teteras.
im assuming u want a center piece fish so maybe gouramis or a pair of angel fish would look great.
o and not forgetting a nice school of corys (my favourite) for the bottom of the tank.
there is a range of fish you could keep in this sized tank.im sure other members will give you a few more ideas.

Hi!

I'm planning for very much the same size tank for later in the year. This is what I was thinking of:

trio of pearl gouramis (1 male, 2 females)

10 small tetras, probably black neons, or black phantoms

pair of bristlenose plecs

10 platies (well, I already have those)

Now can I have any puffers for a tank with those fish, bcfc? Also, thanks to both of you for your repsonses. Later, QD.

Puffers are not a good fish for the community tank. They bite fins and rip up fish. They do best in a puffer only tank and then only with there own breed with lots of room.
