Ok lets get straight to it,

i want cichlids with tiger barbs

what will work?

30 gallon tank with 2 plants and good amount of hiding places

please help as my heart is set on cichlids with tigers.

How many tiger barbs do you have?

Kribensis might work if you have enough tiger barbs.

Id go with Kribs. They are beutiful and not to aggressive. Many of your non-aggesive cichlids should get along with TB as long as their not to small

Egyptian mouthbrooders
Kribs
Rams
Apisto's
Small acara's
Rarer species of Pelvicachromis
Chromides (possibly)
Keyholes

Some "non-aggressive" Cichlids although some may disagree.

6 tiger barbs which im told will keep their aggression way down and i also am getting a bristle nose pleco

PoPoV, taking my list are we? Not all those fish would work with tiger barbs.

Actually I'd only keep the kribs from that list, with tiger barbs.

For a 30g with tiger barbs, which I'd considering adding a few more tiger barbs too, I would choose between -

Kribs
Sajica
Rainbow cichlids
Firemouths (depending on tank dimensions)
Maybe Geo.s though I'd not try it with tiger barbs.

just throwing this out there, but is there anyconcern for having a BN plec with kribs? If the kribs were to pair off, wouldn't life get a bit hard on a bottom dweller like a plec?

Armoured plec, like BN's will cope, they hide a lot in general and are tougher than most fish for handling aggression. In a 30g there is plenty of room for the BN to move out of the way as well. I'd be more concerned if I was trying to breed the kribs and the BN kept eating the eggs, simple solution small entrance caves.
