Anyone know what they are?

I know it sounds mean, but I want to keep the mollies, but not their babies. ANy fish that will eat fry but leave the parents alone?

FOR ANOTHER OPTION:

I don't know where on Long Island you are--(I'm on the North Shore of Nassau County), but what I was able to do with all those molly fry was to donate them to local fish stores because I wanted them to live. (No one here wanted to purchase them--although I have gotten some discounts later from one place I donated to).

One place that took the molly fry were Petland Discounts in Seacliff. (Don't have the phone # off hand). Also, this wonderful store in Carle Place called Aquatic Adventures!! They even offered to take them no matter how young they were whereas some of the other places wanted them a little older...

So this is another alternative I discovered when my molly had 30 fry once!!

Good luck. Let me know what you do.

Thanks, I'll check those places out.

Angelfish.

Tbh, most people who buy fry in stores are buying them as fishfood anyway :/.

angels - there is actually a predator which is very hard to get onto dead foods - leaf fish or something sorry I can't remember

Three-fingers-
The one that took my month or two old dalmation molly fry added them right to the molly tank with the others--FYI. I stopped by a few weeks later and recognized them still in there. But what you say may be true, of course. Yickkk, I just don't like to think about it! (Never mind that I eat salmon and flounder and fluke and tuna, of course.) ha,ha, ha

pimelodus pictus, little cat fish, 2-3 of these babies will eat Mollie fry all day long, as long as your mollies are kept in fresh water not brackish. im looking for something to eat my fry in a brackish tank.

In my tank I have platys who regularly have babies, pearl gouramis, cardinal tetras and cory cats.

Unless I deliberately save the fry by having the mother give birth in a net, I NEVER see fry. I'd say the gouramis are mostly responsible. Its a case of one day the platy is big and fat and full of eyes, next she's not, and not a fry to be seen.

i brought a few (20 or so) platy fry back to the fish shop and they gave me £10 store credit for them

You could try getting hold of an african clawed frog or two, I know they'll eat fish
