Coming Into The Fishy World

Hello,

My fiance had grown up with pets such as cats and dogs all her life. Since my kids and I have allergies to cats, she had to give hers up for adoption. Determined to have pets, she got me a 10 gallon aquarium and here I am...

So far, I have managed to send 1 tetra, 1 Balloonn Molly and 2 black mollies to fish heaven due to excess Ammonia build up (over crowding and over feeding)... The tank is stable now and we now have 4 tetras, 1 PEPPERED CATFISH, 2 golden balloon mollies and a baby black molly left from the fry one of the mollies that died left.

I'm finding out that it is difficult to maintain an eco balance in a 10 gallon aquarium. I'll be eagerly looking for advice on that and also in upgrading to a larger tank.

Welcome to the forum.
Note that peppered cats should be kept in groups of 4-6.
Upgrading to a larger tank would be a good idea.

hi,
im new to the fishes world too. i have three guppies( that i cant seem to find a new home for), a catfish, and 6 plaitys. i didnt know really about having to cycle the tank so we just threw them in , but their still going strong. have fun!!
