Hi Guys, after a nearly two year absances from the forums, i am returning to hobby of fish keeping.

i left the forums and the hobby after a string of fish tank disasters. a 26 gallon leaking, destroying the dresser it was on, causing evacuation to a smaller 20 gallon into the basement of my home after having nothing to put a larger tank on. after that i removed my khulli missing them and returned them upstairs again to a smaller 10 gallon. a week later the heater in the 20 gallon blew completly killing all but two very hardy green tetra survived. they did pass half a year later tough little guys. the ten gallon became the emergency tank...and i lost my love for fishkeeping after that.

recently my little 10 gallon with the 5 suviving khuli (i started off with 7) and four danios, hyper little suckers. this tank also started developing a leak, loosing 2-4 inches every couple of hours. i had two choices give up these khuli which i have had for over 4-5 years, or start over again and get a new tank, this time with a new stand. (so if the tank leaks again it destroys its own peice of furniture)

so i set out on the emergency tank set up. the original 20 thrown out (it never did develop a leak but it was in rough shape when it became the emergency, so once no longer using it was sent away. i went to petsmart, found a beautiful marine land 20 gallon kit. with this day night lighting system which is really cool. i bought actually fish sand this time, and a beautiful top fin stand which i built with the help of my mom. because of the emergency setting of this, there was no cycling involved, but most of the ten gallons water was placed in the 20 gallon. so with luck i will have both tank and stand for a long while.
with the new tank excitement for the hobby has returned, and as such i have returned home to the forums i grew up (in terms of fish keeping knowladge) with.

btw i used to run around here as sailornight6, lord tolak adjusted it for me as night61. its good to be home

i remember you...welcome back to the forum! :good:

Good to see you back! :good: Sometimes stepping back for a bit, regrouping & going at it again is the best thing, I pretty much do this every summer, as the rest of the year is way busy. Enjoy the new tank! :)
