Comet Acting Odd

my comet is fliting round the tank and twitching, its hard to explain, any ideas? could it be something wrong, or it just being weird?

Sounds like something is irritating it. Is it scratching on anything? If so where on the body?

Going to need more info on your set up and tests for ammonia, nitrite, nirate and ph.
Any new additions such as fish or live plants?

last test everything was normal, zero ammonia and so on there is also a fantail and a ranchu in there and they are fine. nothing new added, it doesnt do it all the time just now and then

Twitching, darting, and shimmying is often a sign of internal parasites. Consider treatment with an anti-parasitic medication, and if possible, a medicated anti-parasitic food.

thank you, will it harm them if they actually dont have parasites?

How high are your nitrates?
How often and how much do you do a water change?
How big is the tank and wwhats the filtration?

You could use aquarium salt to treat them as it kills 99% of parasites and gives a general tonic effect, but it depends on the size, without tails, of your fish

my new pleco has ich, could we possibly have cross contaminated the tanks by accident?

Nitrates are always within limits, I forget exact numbers. water change 10% a week.

I had a young comet that did that, turned out to be an internal bug and it stopped doing it after I medicated it.

An undergravel filterisnt the best for a goldie. What size of tank is he in? I take it the plec is in the same tank as the goldie? What kind is it?

no the pleco was in a different tank, the pleco died i treated the goldies with the same stuff as the other tank and they seem to be fine now all the fish in the other tank are fine too, the pleco got better but still died not sure why
