Well I recently got a balloon molly and i think she has some babies in her, but I am not sure. I see a little gravid spot, but how do i tell other than that? I will try to have some pictures up but dont count on it.

well if shes square in the back and looking like shes gunna burst chances are shes close and her gravid spot gets reall dark u can see the lil babies she is close

Ive never had balloon mollies, but I do have 3 regular ones, two of which were/are pregnant. Do you have more than 1 to compare them to? I'm not really sure how to tell w/ them becaue theyre plump to begin with.

All I can say is they get really plump & you can see the gravid spot, she may also try & go off on her own away from other fish.

I found that mollies are difficult to tell if they are pregnant. They don't fill to the bursting point like guppies or platies do. With balloon mollies it would probably be even more difficult to tell. They do get a little more rounded but its difficult to see unless you know the signs that the particular female will show.

If you bought a mature female chances are that she is pregnant....I've never met a non-pregnant molly!

also before my female gave birth.she had a white spot near her anal fin.after she gave birth that spot was more like a brown color

I noticed a white spot on my molly too....she isn't a balloon molly, but a black one thus I couldn't see a gravid spot......She was prob was preg before I bought her as she was rounded, didn't know if that was just normal....but now after about 30 fry, I notice she is a lot slimmer LOL
