Hi, I haven't posted in awhile. Had no problems to really worry about. I change the water in our 90 gallon tank usually every other week, as the water perimeters are usually fine.

Problem is I had one fish, my son purchased, who had some white spots. Looked like ick, so I treated it. My large blood parrot (I know they are made by man, not by nature), well she developed a white area on one side of her mouth. She seems fine, eats and messes with the other fish. The ICK meds did nothing for this white area. It isn't really fuzzy or fluffy looking. It is just a white area. If it is columnaris, than I thought one treats that with antibotics??? There are no other white spots on any other fish. The white area has not changed, nor gotten worse. So I was wondering what type of antibotics can I use. Any suggestions??

Thanks Lynda

Best when using antibiotics to issolate the fish for treatment, as antibiotics wipe most of the bacteria away in the filter, tetracycline.
