i have a 30g jewel tank and have 3 convicts in there. due to the general opinion of you lot  , i am thinking changing the set up to a colourful mix of cichlids (quantity?) and breeds that will get on.

any ideas would be nice. ps i am not into community tank set ups ie guppies, neons, platties etc.

tjanks :D

Malawi's. Colourful, breed with minor havok and always swiming about. They are Africans so maybe posting in the African Cichlids will help you out with them.

I do like rams actually. very colourful and tend to cover the whole tank

a couple of questions

are they easy to breed
how many should you have and what male female mix is best
how big do they grow
what type of fish are they ie cichlids etc

They are easy to breed if they have the right water (soft and acidic), the right breeding site (flat stone) and a pair (male and feamle that really get along).
Buy 6 Rams then wait and see if 2 pair off then remove the others. So you'll end up with 1 male and 1 female.
Size, 2-2.5".
They are dwarf cichlids.
