Colourful But Compatible

At the moment i have a 100x40x30cm tank at 24C with 3 platies and 7 guppies (mixture of male and female for both). I was wondering if there was a colourful but compatible species of fish i could put in there. At first i looked into Blue Rams but they need a warmer tank and differant water so thats out and I'm afraid i don't know anyother fish species to look for.

Nonetheless I have some guidlines for species if anyone knows some-
non-agressive (this is the main one- i don't want to deal with anymore ripped fins/dead fish)
not too big but bigger than the guppies (i would still like a little room for keeping one or two fry if any survive)
colourful (either colourful body or fins)
at least a little hardy (in otherwords able to put up with me being quite new to fish keeping)

anyone got any ideas or suggestions i could look into?
Can't get any fish for a couple weeks yet but i wanted time for researching things (i really love research)

pretty much any of the smaller rasboras or tetras would go nicely if your water's fairly soft; green/false neons are my favourite. Or featherfin rainbows if your water's a bit harder.

Or cherry barbs?

i take a look into them but i was after something that doesn't shoal (sorry i forgot i add that bit)
the featherfin rainbows look good though

Well, most fish don't shoal much in the safety of a tank anyway. The cherry barbs don't much.

they look pretty good, Thanks! its always strange that things look better in the context of a tank than as individual pictures
